Scotland’s North East is a place much loved by the Royals, not only for the beauty of Deeside but of its proud history. There are more castles per square mile in this region than anywhere else in the UK. This tour features visits to three very different castles and seeing many more on the famous castle trail.

Whilst inScotland the following programme includes;

• Royal Deeside & Balmoral Castle – famed for its landscapes, in the shadows of Lochnagar stands the Royal residence of Balmoral. Described by Queen Victoria as “my dear paradise in the Highlands” We also visit the pretty Deeside town of Ballater on the banks of the River Dee.

• Full day excursion through the Grampian Highlands to 800 year old Fyvie Castle where we discover the lavish collections housed in the castle along the famous grounds and lake. We pickup Moray’s coastal trail at Banff taking in the picturesque coastline.

• We visit the 16^th Century Crathes Castle and Gardens with its resident ghost! A splendorous castle with its turrets, towers, ornate ceilings and formal gardens. We also visit Aberdeen with free time to explore Scotland’s 3^rd largest city.
