A tour around Scotland visiting Scotland’s ancient capital for five centuries Perth, a visit to its current capital Edinburgh and an excursion to discover the historic Stirling where we visit The Kelpies.

 

Whilst on tour, the following program includes;

 

Scone Palace

 

• Scone Palace was the crowning place of Scottish kings where Macbeth, Robert the Bruce and Charles II were once crowned.

• It is the family home of the Earls of Mansfield and the ancient crowning place of Scottish kings on the stone of Scone. See where the Stone of Scone, known as the Stone of Destiny, once stood. It now resides in Edinburgh Castle.

• You can wander down the Long Galley where King Charles II strode to his coronation in 1661. During the Jacobite rebellions, the ‘Old Pretender’ spent three weeks at Scone while his son, Bonnie Prince Charlie, visited in 1745.

 

Perth

 

Known as the 'Fair City', Perth sits on the banks of the River Tay in the east of Scotland, just a short journey from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Perth has elegant Georgian townhouses, cobbled streets and medieval spires. Explore the monuments, art galleries and museums.

 

Edinburgh

 

Needs no introduction as the capital of Scotland. Explore the many attractions, take an open top bus tour, explore the castle or travel the short distance to Leith to visit the former Royal Yacht Britannia.

 

Stirling

 

Has a wealth of attractions and shopping opportunities including:

Stirling Castle - one of the finest and best-preserved Renaissance buildings in the whole of the UK, and the Old Town Jail - learn the history of crime and punishment in the Royal Burgh through self-guided audio tours, a ‘Scene of the Crime’ exhibition and an amazing observation tower.

 

Rob Roy, Aberfoyle ***
