Stratford upon Avon

 

• Born and buried here in the heart of England is William Shakespeare, and there’s a lot centred around the playwright in Stratford-upon-Avon, from its three theatres to the half-timbered Tudor cottages of he and his significant others. Idyliic buildings mix with the modern, enjoy the riverside,

• You can’t come here and miss out Shakespeare, but there’s so much more to Stratford-upon-Avon. Choose paddle boarding or ghost touring, raise a glass to the Shakespeare Distillery or cruise the River Avon. What to see, or not to see – that really is the question.

 

Black Country Museum

 

• Located in the heart of the West Midlands, the Museum tells over 200 years of history, from the Industrial Revolution to post-war prosperity, through living interpretation of sights, sounds, smell and taste. Chat with the people that made this place home, from metalworkers and miners to nurses and schoolteachers – and even a pub landlord or two.

• There are many experiences for visitors to enjoy that will take them back in time. They can go underground in the drift mine to find out what life was like for an 1850s miner or watch a short film from the silent era in the 1920s cinema.

• The latest addition, a 1940s-60s high street portraits the popular culture of the time. Visitors can, see the latest fashions, taste nostalgic sweets, listen to trend setting vinyl records, and experience a true feel of the 1950’s

 

Warwick

 

• Warwickshire’s county town is perhaps best known for its magnificent castle and endless historic charm. There are many places to visit mixed with beautiful parks and gardens, all within walking distance from the town centre.
