Hastings
History and heritage dominate the character of the bustling East Sussex town of Hastings with many connections with 1066. Hastings has also had a close relationship with the ocean, and although its fishing industry has declined, it still has Europe's largest beach-launched fishing fleet.
The remains of William the Conqueror's first English castle still stand today and the town offers a range of attractions for the short break visitor looking for what to do in Hastings. From Britains steepest funicular to the meandering alleyways of the Old Town, it's a great place to explore.
Rye
Rye is a picturesque medieval hilltop town, Once surrounded by the sea Rye Town Council, it now sits two miles inland beside the River Rother Rye. Famous for its steep cobbled lanes like Mermaid Street, crooked timber-framed houses, and rich smuggling history, the town offers independent boutiques, cozy pubs, and a thriving local fishing fleet.
Brighton
With its sandy beaches, award winning promenades and historic harbour, alongside all the traditional British seaside favourites as you'd expect in a town renowned for its busy fishing industry. Take a wander around the Old Town. Explore the Georgian High Street with its vintage galleries and quirky independent shops and boutiques.
The Cavendish Hotel is ideally located right on the Eastbourne seafront, close to the town's shopping and commercial centre, Eastbourne railway station and all the main beaches in the area.
