Wordsworth found his inspiration for one of the most famous poems in English literature in the Lake District. You too can find that there is so much to see and do in England’s largest National Park, based near the historic market town of Penrith.

 

Whilst on tour, the following program includes;

 

Barnard Castle

 

• A traditional town in County Durham, home of the famous Bowes Museum along with many independent shops to explore.

 

Mainsgill

 

• Award winning Farm Shop and shopping venue situated near Scotch Corner, see the animals in the farm and shop from everything from essentials to clothing, gifts and more.

 

Grange-over-Sands

 

• Grange-over-Sands is an elegant town, with strong reminders as its heyday as a fashionable seaside resort in the 19th century.  Victorian and Edwardian elegance is still very much in evidence today throughout the town, and is famous for its ornamental gardens, attractive shopping arcades and long seafront promenade.

• Ulverston situated on the Furness peninsula, a historic town with a labyrinth of cobbled streets, and has claim to fame with many famous persons perhaps the most famous being the birthplace of Stan Laurel, and home to the world’s only Laurel and Hardy Museum.

 

Carlisle

 

• Carlise as a mix of independent retailers and high stert bands including the Lanes Shopping Cenre and the award winning Victorian Market Hall home to an amazing mix of stalls. Alive with history, within the city you can wander through the cobbled streets of the Historic Quarter, visit the mighty castle, along with the city walls, museums and galleries.

 

Shap Wells ***
